OKKids is an independent, plain-language guide to family and youth resources in Oklahoma. This site is built to be read, not to collect data about the people who read it. This Privacy Policy explains what information OKKids does and does not gather, and how any information that is collected is handled.

Information OKKids Does Not Collect

OKKids does not actively collect personal information. There are no user accounts to create, no comment forms to fill out, no newsletter to subscribe to, and no application forms of any kind. Applications for programs, benefits, or services always happen on the official program websites linked throughout this site, never on OKKids. Nothing on this site asks a visitor to submit a name, address, phone number, or any other personal detail.

Server Logs

Like nearly all websites, the server that hosts OKKids keeps standard technical logs. These may include information such as the requesting device’s IP address, browser type, the date and time of a request, and the pages requested. This information is a routine byproduct of running a website and is common to almost every site on the internet. It is used only to keep the site secure, diagnose technical problems, and ensure pages load properly. It is not used to build profiles of individual visitors, and it is not sold or shared for marketing purposes.

Analytics

OKKids uses privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics through Fathom Analytics to understand which pages are useful in aggregate. This analytics service does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track visitors across other websites. It provides only anonymous, high-level counts, such as how many people viewed a given page. There is no way to identify an individual visitor from this information.

Cookies and Advertising

OKKids does not use advertising cookies and does not run behavioral advertising of any kind. There are no third-party ad networks and no marketing trackers on this site. Because the analytics used are cookieless, ordinary browsing of this site does not place tracking cookies on a visitor’s device, and there is no advertising profile being built from a visit.

Links to Other Websites

OKKids links to many official government agencies and nonprofit organizations so that visitors can reach the authoritative source for each program. These external websites are operated by other organizations and have their own privacy policies and practices. Once a visitor follows a link away from OKKids, this Privacy Policy no longer applies. Reviewing the privacy policy of any external site before sharing personal information there is always a good idea.

Children’s Privacy

OKKids is directed at parents, caregivers, and the adults who help young people in Oklahoma find resources. It is not directed at children, and it does not knowingly collect any information from children. Because the site collects no personal information from anyone through forms or accounts, no personal information is knowingly gathered from a child. Any adult who believes a child has somehow provided personal information is encouraged to make contact so the concern can be addressed.
